Simon Wincer is an Australian-born director of film, TV, and miniseries. Besides Free Willy (1993), the film that brought him to Sequel Rights, he is most known for projects like The Phantom (1996), Harlequin (1980) and Lonesome Dove (1989). In 2011 he wrote, directed, and produced The Cup, a historical drama recounting the 2002 Melbourne Cup horse race. His favorite hobby is playing and watching polo.
