Steven Krimmel is a Nicaraguan and German-American filmmaker, editor, and actor from Newark, California. He made his first slasher film at the age of 10 called Under the Bed. His 6th grade teacher called him the “next Stephen King” based on his short story, The Spread of Horror. His mafia film Pistoleros was a smash hit in his 10th grade Spanish class, grossing a staggering $50 in DVD sales at his high school. He paid his way through film school by working as a 35mm film projectionist at his hometown movie theater and received his B.A. degree in Cinema from San Francisco State University in 2010. His short film Disconnection was a part of NuvoTV’s Nu Point of View: The Emerging Latino Filmmakers showcase hosted by Gina Rodriguez. Steven produces, edits, directs, and writes for the micro-series Starring Kristine with his longtime collaborator, Kristine Gerolaga. Two of these shorts were featured in the Toronto International Film Festival’s 2018 TIFFxInstagram Shorts Festival. He also produced, edited, and acted in the horror short Concealer, in partnership with ATTN: and Amazon FireTV. Steven is based in Los Angeles where he directs branded content and is in development on a horror feature film.
